Before You Begin
Set aside dedicated time for this conversation outside of a normal team meeting. Creating space away from the usual agenda will help your team focus on the Kingdom Horizon Canvas rather than the tasks demanding immediate attention. As urgency begins to settle, you'll be better positioned to listen, reflect, and discern together.
If you're working as a team, encourage everyone to watch the teaching and complete the Kingdom Horizon Canvas individually before you meet. Beginning with individual reflection often leads to richer shared discernment.
Open your time together with a simple prayer, asking the Holy Spirit to help you listen well, speak honestly, and recognize where God may already be at work.
Share What You Noticed
Go around the room and invite each person to answer these questions.
What part of the teaching stayed with you?
As you completed the Kingdom Horizon Canvas, what captured your imagination?
What surprised you?
Where did you experience hope?
Where did you experience tension?
Allow each person to share before moving into discussion. Listen for recurring words, images, and themes.
Discern Together
After everyone has shared, reflect together.
What themes continue to surface?
Where do we sense unexpected agreement?
Where are our perspectives different?
What might God be inviting us to pay closer attention to?
What conversations do we need to continue?
Avoid the temptation to solve problems or finalize language. The purpose of this conversation is discernment, not consensus.
Capture What Matters
As a team, identify two or three ideas that seem most significant.
Complete this sentence together.
We believe God may be inviting us toward...
Don't worry about finding perfect words. Your language will continue to develop as your discernment deepens.
Before You Finish
Take a few moments to pray.
Thank God for what has become clearer.
Ask for wisdom where questions remain.
Pay attention during the coming weeks to conversations, opportunities, and stories that either strengthen or challenge what you've discerned today.
In the next module, you'll explore how healthy organizations become great learners and why curiosity, experimentation, and listening are essential to faithful change.
Work With Us
If your team finished this exercise thinking, "We know something is missing, but we're struggling to articulate it..." that's exactly where the Identity Project begins.
Over several facilitated sessions, we help leadership teams uncover their deepest convictions, clarify their identity, and develop a compelling future that people actually want to build together.
